We actually did a conference call with someone last night who has been researching the murder for years. I’m skeptical of whether or not the details we received were fact or fiction, though. I think some of the “information” was based on what the person wanted us to believe.
It seems like the Ector County Sheriff’s Office was under a great deal of pressure to solve this case, so there was an effort underway to develop a storyline that could build a legitimate case against Galloway. Of course, they were never able to build a real case – which makes me doubt their whole “story” in the first place.
How hard is it to simply state the facts? You can’t base a murder investigation on opinion.
Why can’t the evidence present the true story?
If they didn’t have the right technology to solve the case over 35 years ago, then maybe today they could bring new evidence to light. The case needs to be reopened – plain and simple.
We know now that we need to be careful about who we talk to and what we believe. We also need to make sure that we don’t share too much with others – because details have a way of getting twisted when it comes to Carmen’s murder… especially when Charlie’s name is involved.
Say a prayer for me,
K. E.
